Hank Wendt is a man of many talents and interests. He began his life’s journey on his family’s ranch near Bridgeport, Oregon. His mom and dad operated the 600 acre ranch, and Hank, his two brothers and two sisters helped too. Hank describes his duties on the ranch with humor saying “he rode horses and herded cows.”
Hank went to college at the University of Oregon at Eugene where he studied philosophy. He worked hard for his education and was rewarded by his academic accomplishments. After college, Hank taught himself how to be a carpenter and became a contractor.
Today, Hank has many interests including reading, health and the Public Authority. He usually has a copy of an interesting book like Chaco Canyon with him. He promotes his own health with vitamins and good nutrition. He serves on the Public Authority Governing Board because he believes in making a contribution. On the Board, he enjoys bringing his perspective as a user of supportive services, overseeing the agency’s finances as a member of the finance committee and playing a key role in development of the Urgent Backup Care program. As the Chair of the Committee which helped shape the UBC program, he has been delighted to see it become fully operational.
