Classroom Training

American Red Cross

All IHSS providers are eligible to attend and be reimbursed for their out-of-pocket expenses to attend classes offered by the American Red Cross. All IHSS providers who are currently employed by an IHSS consumer are eligible for this benefit. Classes eligible for reimbursement include any combination of these three:

1. Advanced External Defibrilator (AED)
2. Cardio Pulmonar Resucitation (CPR)
3. First Aid

If you are interested in taking advantage of this special offer, follow these simple steps:

- Review the schedule
- Register for a class through Red Cross
- Successfully complete the class
- Get reimbursed for the class by submitting a
   Red Cross card and proof of payment.

You may fax, mail or deliver a copy of the Red Cross card and receipt to the Public Authority office. We will reimburse you by check within 7-14 days.

Advance registration is required. Go to the website www.bayarea-redcross.org, or call 800-520-5433. Unless otherwise noted, all Red Cross classes will be held at the Marin American Red Cross Office, 712 Fifth Street, San Rafael.

West Marin Regional Occupation Program

All IHSS providers are eligible to attend and be reimbursed for the cost of select training delivered at the Regional Occupation Program in conjunction with West Marin Senior Services. Call 415-499-5860. Registration required.
